For K3 Parents(LKG-Class 3) come up with a new program called the “Early Learn Program/K3 parent zone”.

Challenge

Problem Space

“The challenge is about to create unified parent experience based on existing user need ”

Why there is a need to include progress and performance inside Parent zone?

What are the current problems of the user?

  • Checking the performance and progress is a key activity that the parent performs in order to be involved in the child’s learning journey. This acts as a primary data point on which parents take decisions on behalf of their to improve their learning

  • Also this is one of the direct indicators of whether or not the child is gaining from the learning activities that are taken up.

  • Currently, the progress report for respective individual apps sits outside the Parent Zone on LearnStation Device. They are currently inside the respective individual apps.

  • The information is scattered for parents and is not available to them at a single place.

  • For Parents to view their child’s progress report, they need to go inside the individual apps and move from one app to another to view the progress report which amounts to greater effort and time.

  • Parents have limited understanding of their child’s performance outcomes and study patterns across all programs

Competitor Analysis

Research and Competitor Analysis  Insights

1.SUMMARY - IMPROVEMENT SEEN VS IMPROVEMENT NEEDED - OVERALL, SUBJECTS, TOPICS

We need clear summary of how much the child has improved vs where he needs more work for overall, and for each subject and topic”

2. ENGAGEMENT ON APP: DAILY USAGE/TIME SPENT/DAYS MISSED

Time duration of how much time the student has spent in application / weekly analysis on how much time she is using the application. Is she attending regularly?” Parents would like to know how often the child has used the tab with metrics like - Time Spent on App, Daily Usage & Days Missed

3. WORKSHEET DEEP DIVE

Worksheets should be more explained - completed, target is shown in percentage but parents wants in more detail what he has written where improvement is needed”

4. PROGRESS TRACK

Monthly Progress”, “Subject-wise performance”, “Videos watched and Games played” are the most useful parts of the current report card. Clearly, parents want performance/marks in the progress report

Solution by Design

Product Section and Priorities

In order to optimize the user experience, first of all, we should start from the user’s purpose, which helps us understand the difficulties they are facing.

Usability Testing

Objective

1. To understand how well users interact with an application in order to improve overall experience.

2. To validate prototype:

  • To check user can complete task successfully and independently

  • Observe how much user is enjoying

  • To check whether design is understandable

  • Clarify if users can navigate through prototype successfully

3. Specific inputs on the performance page:

Observation after usability testing

1. The parents needs learn station introduction to parent zone

2. Parent zone must involve intro screens for initial user for easier understanding of product.

3. Increase/Decrease in activities percentage is misleading for user.

4. Parent is not able to find the Weekly monthly comparison view detail scenario.

5. Collapse / Expand transition of navigation could be more clear.

6. Subscription status flow could be more better.

7. User thought child profile is clickable in profile.

8. How much time delay in live class needs to be mentioned for e.g 10 min delay etc..
